Hwasuk Ryu is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Hansol Telecom co. Ltd.. He was appointed to this post on Feb. 2001
Prior to his appointment with Hansol Telecom, Mr. Ryu had held a number of key IT leadership positions during his Samsung career, including senior vice president of Samsung IT Service for six years from 1994, where he led Samsung's IT strategy and adoption of leading-edge information technology infrastructure, as well as the implementation of Samsung group-wide common application software. He also served as senior vice president for Internet Business, Business Strategic Planning, Quality Management, and System Integration Business.
Mr. Ryu began his career at Samsung Corporation after he graduated from the Seoul National University, where he received bachelor degree in business administration. Later on, he received MBA and Ph.D in MIS (Management information system) from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, U.S.A.. He and his wife have one son.
